Today Amazon officially unveiled long rumored the Fire Phone at a press event in Seattle.  Amazon’s first-ever phone has a 4.7-inch Gorilla Glass display with an HD-resolution screen. Amazon is targeting to “One Customer” and like Kindle Fire and Fire TV, it will use predictive caching to expect your favorite shows and pre-buffer them so that they will start streaming instantly.  New Fire phone will have dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital surround sound, and come with cool designed ear buds and flat cables, which are intended to prevent tangles.

Amazon Firefly

Amazon brought new features for smartphone world. Using FireFly feature it can recognize products — like games, food, soap, books, or anything else and shows you its Amazon rating, as well as a link to buy it through the phone. It can also identify music, like Shazam, and give you a link to buy the song or album you’re listening to. Another clever features of FireFly include the ability to find audio tracks from TV shows and movies and displayed a link to its IMDB page, as well as links to buy or rent the episode. If you take a photo of a piece of art, FireFly will also bring up information about the painting, artist via Wikipedia.

Dynamic Perspective

Amazon introduced another feature, Dynamic 3D Perspective. Four cameras mounted at each corner, the Fire phone detects where a user’s head is to the phone, and then adjusts what appears on-screen accordingly. On the lock screen, you can tilt the phone to see different aspects of images, which are redrawn in real-time. Also it will let you scroll through Web pages and documents simply by tilting the phone. You will use it everyday in maps and games to create a more 3d game looks environment.

 Hardware

Amazon Fire Phone runs its own software, Fire OS (which is based on Android OS), with a quad-core 2.2GHz processor and Andreno 330 GPU that’s slightly out-gunned by the Galaxy S5, but otherwise on par with the competition.

Display

With screen size and resolution, the Amazon phone beating the almost one year old iPhone 5S. Given the Amazon phone’s 3D trickery, measuring the new phone’s 4.7-inch, 720p screen against the Galaxy S5′s gigantic display probably isn’t a truly even comparison. Don’t forget that display made with IPS technology which provides rich colors compare to normal LCD screens.

The main feature is the head tracking 3D feature, which looked very cool in commercial video on amazon website demo and might make us forget about other specs.

Cameras

As for cameras, Amazon fire phone comes out near the top of the stack. Its 2.1MP front shooter is midrange for this crowd, but the 13MP rear bests all but the Galaxy S5 and the 20MP camera pacesetter, the Lumia Icon.

Memory and Battery

Like other phones new device matched specs here evenly, it comes with standard 2GB of memory and 32 or 64GB storage options. A 2400 mAh battery should hold more juice than the iPhone 5S and almost equal to the Lumia Icon and Nexus 5. We still need to wait and check how this 4 extra cameras on the front of the phone will impact battery life.

Price

The Fire Phone is AT&T only, with the 32GB model pricing at $199 with a 2 year contract although that includes a year of Amazon Prime membership, a $99 value. So if you are enjoying watching your favorite tv-show, movies through instant video and quick 2 days shipping amazon prime  then phone will come out at only $100.

It looks like new Amazon’s phone is running head to head with other smartphones, but this phone is unique and has huge potential in real world use.  The nifty 3D display may just outshine its somewhat lackluster screen specs, and with Firefly, Mayday, and unlimited cloud-based photo storage, it’s got some appealing features nobody else offers that don’t show up on a spec sheet.
