Sales Exceed Black Friday
Amazon said it had sold more items on Prime Day than its biggest Black Friday ever and had acquired more new members to try Amazon Prime worldwide than any single day in Amazon’s history.
On July 15, 2015 Amazon Prime Day, customers ordered 34.4 million items across Prime-eligible countries, breaking all Black Friday records. That is to say about 398 items ordered were ordered every second on that day! per second. The sale prices were real. New deals were continuously added every ten minutes. Amazon prime members saved millions on deals.
Prime Day Breaks Global Records
“Prime Day was a record-breaker globally – it surpassed all of our expectations,” said Alexandre Gagnon, Country Manager for Amazon.ca. “This week has been the busiest ever for Prime signups and we saw more members shopping on Amazon.ca on Prime Day than on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. We can’t wait to do it again next year.”
